F10 AXLES - MULLET CONFIGURATION
F10 Front Straight axle utilizes the VPS08331 Underdrive gear set (8/33) paired with the F10 Portal Rear axle and a VPS08332 Overdrive gearset (8/32) plus Overdrive portal gears. The F10 Portal Rear axle has a flipped third member to correct the portal rotation. Combined with a Lightweight 21% gearset in the VFD transmision the overall overdrive is 34%. We recommend 475 SLW Hubs in the front and 350 in the rear to accommodate the differing axle widths.
Stance Half Cab
The included Stance Half Cab body comes in clear polycarbonate and includes window masks and decal sheet to fully customize the look of your Mullet build. Decide your own personal style.
Drivetrain
The VRD Mullet Kit includes the Primeselectsss VFD transmission with a F10 Straight front axle and a F10 Portal rear axle. The combination of the F10 Portal and Straight axles delivers a unique experience which blends the low COG of a straight axle with the added clearance of the portal. Aim the front axle exactly where you need it while knowing the added clearance in the back won't stop your progress. The Carbon Spec VFD gives you an upgraded building experience with machined motor motorplate, standoffs and light weight gears.

VRD S25 Chassis

VFD Transmission
The VFD is designed for optimal performance, scale appearance, strength, and versatile accessories. It positions the motor forward and low for ideal weight distribution. The VFD Carbon Spec transmission offers 21% overdrive for improved turning and climbing without stressing electronics. The T-case features aluminum bearing plates for increased strength. Compatible with 540 brushed and brushless motors*.
Strength and Tunability
The VFD transmission has all machined gears inside for strength in the areas that count. The VFD transmission provides the opportunity to chose a variety of option parts for you to tune the performance to your needs.
Suspension
The VRD utilizes Incision 90mm S8E shocks with 8mm bore aluminum threaded bodies, dual O-ring seals, adjustable preload collars, keyed spring cups, and polished steel shock shafts. The front 4-link with suspension with servo-on-axle prioritizes steering effectiveness. Stainless steel links ensure low weight and durability.

The Primeselectsss VRD Mullet Kit is built on our competition level platform proven by its predecessors such as the VRD Carbon and VRD Stance. The VRD Mullet utilizes the lightweight Carbon Spec VFD Transmission and an industry first combination of a F10 Straight front axle and F10 Portal Rear axle. The mix of straight front axle and portal rear axle has been referred to as a mullet setup in the RC Crawling world for years but this is the first time a consumer can buy it in a complete kit version. VRD Mullet Kit is a highly competitive, predictable and versatile platform. Taking advantage of the lower center of gravity that a straight axle offers, you can steer the front exactly where you need it, then take advantage of the additional clearance the F10 Portal rear axle to ensure that a hang-up doesn't stop your progress.
The VRD Mullet Kit features the new S25 frame rails which are optimized for the unique combination of axles and provides an 6 degree angle flat skid plate. The molded chassis components and skid plate place the lightweight Carbon spec VFD transmission as low as possible into the VRD chassis. For the front F10 Straight axle is equipped with a servo on axle and 4-link.

Chassis
The Primeselectsss VRD S25 chassis is equipped with molded chassis components that provide a tunable platform to adapt to the most demanding terrain. The S25 has been optimized for the new axle configuration with a new shock mounting positions and reduced rear overhang. Multiple shock and body mounting positions combined with minimalistic front/rear interchangeable bumpers make body mounting and fitment straight forward. Stamped aluminum rock sliders provide a flat location for electronics and/or battery mounting and are able to support and protect your body.
Drivetrain
The center of the VRD Mullet Kit is the Carbon spec VFD transmission. Equipped with a lightweight machined aluminum motor plate, aluminum motor plate standoffs, while omitting the cosmetic VFD tunnel for a high performance appearance. Internally the VFD is equipped with machined aluminum bearing plates and machined lightweight chromoly gears. Each internal gear has been re-designed to be as lightweight as possible dropping the weight of the overall transmission but maintaining a high level of durability. The T-Case has a built in 21% overdrive.
The front F10 Straight axle has machined underdrive ring and pinion gears while the Rear F10 portal axle has the machined overdrive ring and pinion with overdrive portal gears, combined with the VFD overdrive the final overdrive percentage is 34%.
Suspension
The VRD Mullet Kit includes the Incision S8E shocks with hard anodized shock bodies and multiple length tuning rod ends for a final length range of 85-95mm. Heavy duty stainless steel lower suspension links and lightweight upper links connect the chassis to the axles with the Incision Pro M4 rod ends. The rear lower links are bent for maximum breakover clearance. Multiple shock mounting locations and tunable shock length allow for a high range of ride height and breakover adjustment.
